Yet Another New Idea
I have an idea, and thought I'd run it by everyone here.
You know The Library thread on Inkspiller? Well, seeing as we are all often discussing the books we have read, this quote came to mind, although I have forgotten who said it: "Good reading makes for good writing." I was thinking: maybe we could do something where one of us chooses a book, and posts its title and author in The Library Thread. Then, ALL of the Inkies members has to read it- get it from the library, buy it, borrow it from a friend, whichever. There would be a certain time frame for us to finish it. Maybe a month? I mean, normally I can read a book in just a few days, but seeing as we are all so busy at this point, I thought more time would be good. Then, when the time limit was up, we could discuss it in the thread. What we liked, we didn't like, (if anything) what we got from it, what we saw in it.
I mean, hey. This should encourage good reading.....therefore.....good writing....which stems from more writing......so..... *sheepish grin*
What do y'all think?
Or am I just insane.

I think I like it! :) As long as no one suggested Harry Potter etc, or half the site would kill the other half. lol.
Dear Gen, one of the qualifications of an Inky is that they have to be at least moderately insane. ;)
I think everyone should read Inkheart. :-D
Inkheart! Yes, good one. :)
Harry Potter is a no. That is not good literature, and no good writing would come of that. ;) Noooo HP. I've read three, and that's enough.
Now, if we could just get the others to come read this ...
*taps foot*
Seriously. I don't think anyone ever really comes here anymore except you and I.... *rolls eyes*
And Rose. We never thought of a pusnishment for them, let alone did we carry it out! AND we forgot about it- even worse. *bites nails*
We need to brainstorm over PM at Inkies. ;)
*evil grin*
I for one don't have any time for anything, much less some trivial activity as reading. :-P
*slaps Noah very hard*
Oh, yeah, *right*, Noah. I am sure you somehow have plenty of time for video games, however.
Actually, Tolky, video games are something of a luxury for me. I get to play maybe once every three months or so, when my cousin visits.
So nyah. :D
(Though now that school's out, I intend to take up the Brothers Karamazov again after Nano...)
Why not *read* instead an' improve your mind. I'm sure there's room for that. :P
