An idea

And also a test to see if anyone still comes here anymore. *glowers*

I have an idea for a short story that revolves around ... rain. I've long had this image in my mind, and have wanted to write a story for it, and I think in a short while it will come to fruition.

But I had this idea. See, back when it was Liz and Joseph and Gen and I, before any of us (whether the four of us or everybody here) had joined Nano, and before Inkies was even a spark in Mara's imagination ... Well, way back then in ancient history, we used to have these long writerly talks. (I'm not saying we don't anymore, but we did back then. Don't misread my point please. :P ) And one of the subjects these talks sometimes turned to was: what if we each took something, like a plot, or a character, or a simple thing like 'trees', and each wrote about it? To see what we did the same, what we did differently ... just to see?

Well - what if each of us Quillbearers wrote about Rain?

I think it sounds like a cool idea. :-D

Comment please.

I was going to write a story about Rain anyway. Well, okay the specific weather-pattern that inspired me was a thunderstorm, but it would involve rain.

The idea you got when watching the tree?

Goodness. . . that was a while ago.

No it was an idea I had while working during a thunderstorm. Since hardly anyone was shopping in the garden shop and the place was already straight I just stood by the back door and watched the storm come in.

Rose, that sounds like the aweseomest idea. Tell us more.

More! More! More! More!

I love the rain!

Oooh, Lyn ... that sounds like it was awesome.

More about my story idea, Gen? You're not getting more. :P Or more about this idea?

The other day I was listening to Enya, and her song about rain began to play. Very cool. I thought that maybe we could narrow it further and base it on that song (not the lyrics necessarily - just, the song, so that the story kind of fits it however you want it to) - but not everyone has access to it.

I have access to it. But which CD do you mean? I have the one 'A Day Without Rain' and I have listened to "Amarantine" over and over- I rent it at the library, cuz I'm broke. :)

And Rose. I meant that I want more about THIS idea. Not your idea, silly. ;0

So. Tell me more about this idea. I can't start with nothing.

Well, we can't start without the others, either ... Hehe.

The song I meant is 'It's in the Rain', on the Amarantine album. Number three, I think. *grin*

Well, we could either have it be very loose ("Write about Rain"), a little tighter ("write about Rain as a symbol of something"; "write a song based on Enya's song "It's in the Rain" or "A Day without Rain"), or very specific ("Write about a girl walking in the woods while it's raining out"). Just examples, btw. :) I don't think I'd want any of those, except perhaps the Enya one. And I wouldn't want to get too specific, cause part of the fun would be the variety.

I think the idea sounds awesome.

But I am becoming very...unhappy because all the members except for you and I (and *maybe* Lyn) have disappeared, and completely deserted this place. There is no excuse.

*folds arms*

Me too.

*glares sharply at the absent members*

Lyn only commented because I reminded him. *rolls eyes*

Alright. So it it just us two then.

*mad*

As for everyone else....we should take them all by the hair and knock their heads together. *emphatic nod*

We should conspire together and think of something to do, fruz.

Come on. Every time someone mentions quillbearers I come to this place. But that isn't very often.

I'll try to come up with a post of my own soon.

*ponders*

We should. But we'll leave Lyn out of it ... it's less troublesome that way ...

I shall post a warning, and all those who don't comment within a span of several days shall be subject to ... something we think up. *nods threateningly*

Lyn, does someone actually have to mention Quillbearers to you for you to come here? What is this?

Oh well. At least you haven't entirely vanished like everyone else.

Rose, you're right; since Lyn posted at all, we can leave him out of the...punishment. And anyway, even if he is troublesome, he can't POSSIBLY be as *reckless* as Nutty would be.

So. Give the warning whenever you're ready.

Okies.

What will the punishment be?

Ooooohhhh...that's hard. I would have to think about that for a while. Maybe Lyn could help us think of a just punishment? Guys seem to be good at that. ;)

Actually, I think it's the girls. After all, Liz and I were always punishing Lyn, not the other way around ... *grin*

I forgive you. :)

When MTA's over I think we should solidify this idea a little better - then DO it. :)
